The Biometric Information Privacy Act (BIPA) requires written notice of purpose and retention, and written consent, before collecting biometric identifiers such as fingerprints or face geometry. Individuals can sue directly, with statutory damages per violation. That matters for time clocks, access control, identity verification and some AI features. We design those features to capture consent first, limit retention and avoid collecting biometrics where they aren't essential. Illinois has no comprehensive consumer privacy law as of September 2026.
