Most companies don't need "software". They need the quote-to-cash process to stop living in someone's inbox, the field team to stop texting photos to the office, and the owner to see real numbers without asking three people. Custom software is worth it when the process is specific to you and the off-the-shelf tools force your team to work around them.

Agenbord is a Fort Lauderdale software development company. We design, build and support custom web applications, mobile apps and business systems for companies across the US - from a single internal tool to a multi-tenant platform. Every engagement starts with a free discovery call and a written scope with a fixed number.

    What we build

Custom Software: what it looks like in practice.

    Internal tools & dashboards

Admin panels, approval flows, job boards and reporting that pull from the systems you already use - built to replace the spreadsheet everyone is afraid to touch.

    Customer & vendor portals

Secure logins where clients track orders, upload documents, pay invoices and message your team - without emailing PDFs back and forth.

    CRM & operations systems

Pipelines, job costing, inventory and scheduling modelled on your process. See custom CRM development and ERP & operations software.

    Integrations & data sync

Two-way sync between accounting, payments, e-signature, telephony and messaging - so data is typed once and trusted everywhere.

    Legacy modernization

Access databases, desktop apps and fragile scripts moved to a secure cloud web app. See cloud application development.

AI & automation inside the product

Document extraction, smart search, assistants and automated follow-ups where they remove real work - not as a demo. See AI development.

    Pricing

What it costs, in real numbers.

Custom software prices vary more than 10x across the market because "custom software" covers everything from a two-screen tool to a regulated platform. These are our standard price bands. You get a fixed price for your scope after discovery - never an open-ended hourly meter.

    Focused internal tool

    From $12k

One core workflow, a handful of roles, one or two integrations. Typically replaces a spreadsheet or manual process end to end.

    4–8 weeks

    Business platform

    $30k–$80k

Portal plus admin, several roles and permissions, payments or documents, and integrations with accounting or CRM.

    2–4 months

    Complex or multi-tenant system

    $80k+

Multiple products or tenants, heavy integrations, audit requirements or offline/mobile components. Delivered in phases.

    4–9 months, phased

Budget for running costs too. Hosting for a typical small-business application runs roughly $50–$500 a month depending on traffic and storage. Plan on 15–20% of the build cost per year for maintenance, security updates and small improvements - we'll show you exactly what that covers before you sign.

    How it works

From first call to launch, no surprises.

A written scope and a fixed price before any work starts, a working demo every week, and a clean handoff at the end.

    1. Step 0130 min

      Free discovery call

Thirty minutes on the process you want to fix, who uses it and what it's worth to fix. You leave with our honest recommendation - including when off-the-shelf software is the better buy.

    2. Step 023–7 days

      Scope & fixed proposal

User roles, screens, data model, integrations and acceptance criteria in writing, with a fixed price and timeline. Nothing starts until you approve it.

    3. Step 031–3 weeks

      Design & architecture

Clickable prototype for the key flows and a data model we agree on before engineering starts - when changes still cost almost nothing.

    4. Step 04Most of the timeline

      Build with weekly demos

Two-week sprints and a working demo every week on a staging environment you can click through. Change requests are written down, priced and opt-in.

    5. Step 051–2 weeks + 30 days

      Launch, handoff & support

Data migration, QA on real devices, deployment to accounts in your name, team training and 30 days of included support. Ongoing care plans are optional.

    Is this right for you?

    An honest fit check.

    A strong fit if…

    • A core process is specific to how you operate and off-the-shelf tools force workarounds.
    • You're paying per-seat for several tools that each do 20% of what you need.
    • The workflow is stable enough to describe - even if today it lives in spreadsheets.
    • You want to own the code and data rather than rent them.

Probably not the right move if…

    • A mainstream SaaS product already does 90% of it - buy that, and we'll say so.
    • The process changes every month and nobody owns it yet.
    • You need a regulated medical or banking system certified from day one; that's specialist territory.
    Expert notes

What we'd tell you on the first call.

Build vs. buy: the honest version

Buy when your process is standard - accounting, payroll, basic email marketing. Build when the process is your advantage, when per-seat licences keep climbing as you hire, or when you're already paying for three tools plus a person to glue them together.

A useful test: list the workarounds your team does every week. If they add up to hours per person and they come from the tool not matching your process, a focused custom tool usually pays for itself within a year or two. We walk through the full framework in our build vs. buy guide.

What you own at the end

The source code in a repository under your account, the cloud accounts, the domain, the database and the documentation. No licence fee to keep using what you paid for, and no lock-in to us - another competent team can pick it up. That's written into every contract.

    How fixed pricing stays fixed

Fixed price only works with a precise scope, so the scope document lists every role, screen, integration and acceptance criterion. If you want something new mid-project, we write it up as a change request with its own price and you decide. No surprise invoices, and no "that wasn't in the estimate" arguments at the end.

    Proof

Software our team built and runs.

We don't just build for clients - we operate our own SaaS products in production, so we design for the unglamorous parts: billing, support, uptime and change.

    FAQ

    Custom Software: questions buyers ask.

How much does custom software development cost?

Our pricing starts around $12k for a focused internal tool, run $30k–$80k for a business platform with a portal, roles and integrations, and go above $80k for complex or multi-tenant systems. You get a fixed price for your specific scope after a free discovery call.

How long does it take to build custom software?

A focused tool typically ships in 4–8 weeks, a business platform in 2–4 months, and larger systems in phases over 4–9 months. You see working software in a demo every week, so progress is never a guess.

Do we own the source code?

Yes. The code lives in a repository in your account, deployed to cloud accounts in your name. You own it outright from day one - no licence fees and no lock-in.

Can you work with our existing systems?

Usually, yes. We integrate with accounting, CRM, payments, e-signature, telephony and messaging tools through their APIs, and we'll tell you during discovery if a system's API makes something impractical.

    Do you sign NDAs?

Yes. We're happy to sign your NDA - or send ours - before you share anything sensitive.

We're not in Florida. Does that matter?

No. We're based in Fort Lauderdale and work with companies across the US on Eastern Time business hours, with meeting times arranged for Central, Mountain and Pacific teams. Weekly demos happen over video, and we can meet in person in South Florida.

    What happens after launch?

Thirty days of support are included. After that you can keep us on a care plan for updates, monitoring and improvements, or take it fully in-house with the documentation we hand over.
